TrueWave Phones & Deals operates in alignment with the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Laws of Kenya) and the guidance of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
1. What we collect
Name, phone number, National ID, region, chosen device, M-Pesa statement (affordability check), ID photos and selfie (identity verification), and next of kin details (account safety). We collect only what is necessary to process your application.
2. Why we collect it
To verify identity, assess affordable weekly plans, deliver your device, prevent fraud, and meet financing requirements. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
3. How we protect it
All pages are served over HTTPS with 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption. Documents are transmitted encrypted and accessed only by the approval team. Photos are compressed on your device before upload to minimize exposure.
4. Your rights (DPA 2019)
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
